Want Your Ex Back? Stay Clear Of These 4 Costly Mistakes

By Marc Sandford

When you've recently had a break up with your ex, your system is under a great deal of emotional stress. Nature has structured the brain so that extreme stress makes us act first then think afterwards. Sadly, this won't work very well if we're trying to win back our ex. When feeling stressed, bear these four tips in mind after a breakup:

1.) When you're feeling angry and stressed out, do absolutely nothing. Sit down, relax, and collect yourself. Never act on impulse when stressed out. Many of the disastrous mistakes that we make in our lives can be traced to impulsive decisions and actions. The course that you take when trying to win back your ex should be based on a well thought out plan.

2.) Stay clear of arguments about getting together again. Doing this sets you back in more ways than one. The two of you need to cool off some and constant fighting just fuels the fire.

Likewise, arguing against breaking apart will shift you into pleading mode or anger mode. Being angry with him or her won't make the person back down, it's going to make getting your ex back more difficult. Pleading is going to cause him or her to question why you're being so desperate and needy.

3.) You might feel a bit down and out after your break up, but don't allow yourself to look the part. The image that gets projected to your ex will decide how easy or difficult it will be to win him or her over. So be sure to stay well groomed and dressed, and keep the extra pounds off your waist.

4.) There's a fine line that separates determination from stalking. If your pursuit goes over and above what's deemed normal behavior, you're stalking. This will only frighten your ex away and may even land you in jail.

Don't forget that half of the battle is not making the mistakes that will damage your odds at winning your ex back. This is done by not allowing yourself to get gripped by anger, panic, or the other extreme emotions that commonly occur during a break up. Avoid any of the thoughts and situations that stir up these negative feelings and start your plan to win your ex back. - 30299
