Outdoor Marriage: Improve The Outdoors' Natural Good Looks

By Cheryl Bayley

Outdoor marriage is like a dream to many, and possibly you are one of these people. You may have thought about it as an ideal setting for a long time, maybe even when you were invited to other people's weddings and thought that your one would be on a secluded beach, or in a beautiful natural park, or other similar outdoor location.

As you may now be getting closer to the date of that wedding, you will surely have found out that there is so much that needs to be organized and planned for. This is especially true if the marriage ceremony that you plan is going to take place outside. There are a lot of considerations that are necessary for an outdoor event such as this.

All the difficulties that seem to be inherent in an outdoor wedding celebration will actually turn out to be pretty easy to solve, if only you are willing to spend the time to plan everything accordingly and systematically. And ultimately a lot of effort will probably be solved, as in most cases the ceremony and the reception can be organized in the same place.

One thing that will make it much easier for you to furnish and embellish the area where an outdoor wedding will take place is that, as outdoors areas go, most of them are already furnished to a certain extent, and certainly embellished an made beautiful by the view, and by local plants and features! So your role should just be to improve and add upon the place's natural beauty.

One very important aspect is natural and artificial lighting. Consider from where the sun will be shining on the day of your outdoor marriage, and at what time it will set. Up to what time will you have enough natural lighting, and when will you have to use artificial lights?

If the marriage is going to take place during the day, you should avoid placing the ceremony area in a way that the wedding guests will end up looking directly into the light. Turning the main view of the ceremony at right angles to the direction of sunlight at the corresponding time is a good idea.

Several other natures' pleasures could be spoiling the wedding party if you are not careful during the preparation. You should ensure that your guests are going to be protected against the elements and specifically against rain and gusts of wind. Adequate and solid protection needs to be installed, especially in the colder months.

Another thing that you need to consider for an outdoor marriage venue is the risk of wind gusts. Make sure that any candles or open fires that you use are well shielded or they may go out, or worse, ignite some of the decoration. Heavy decoration items such as wide and low bowls for flowers are good to hold down tablecloths.

Next, you need to master noise levels at the outdoor marriage venue. This cuts both ways. You need to control noise levels coming from outside, such as from heavy surf on the beach or from cars passing on a nearby road. But you also need to make sure that the noise level coming from your party is in line with local regulations. This might sound trivial, but it isn't if you are planning to end your wedding with music or with a wild dancing night with a sound system.

While decorating and arranging the venue for outdoor marriage, you need to make sure that people with limited mobility, such as elderly people or pregnant women, will be able to access the venue easily and to move around without problems. Make sure that there are wheelchair paths, if necessary. - 30299
